FAQ's

Appointing a managing agent is a big decision. Whether you are looking to change agent, or have been self managing for many years and are now looking to appoint a professional to take the load, inevitably there are some questions that arise. Below are some of the most common questions that our clients have raised…

It’s time to talk about the ‘t’ word…turnover. High staff turnover is one of the biggest challenges in the industry, and whilst it’s a headache for the agent, the people who really suffer the effects are you. Successful property management is built around knowledge; Knowledge of your property and the people who live there. Too often, managing agents lose their staff and that knowledge goes with them. So inevitably, every time a new Property Manager is assigned to look after your property, it can feel like starting all over again. At CPM we work hard to train and reward our staff so that they become an integral and valued part of the business. The result of this is that our staff want to work with us, and for you! Some of our team have been with us for over a decade which is testament to our efforts to buck the industry trend of high staff turnover.
You wouldn’t expect to pay for your food shopping or your haircut twice, so why should you pay your managing agent twice? The management fee quoted to you at the outset is the fee you pay. No extras, no add-ons, no hidden charges. You already pay us for our service and advice once, so we wont charge you again!
The simple answer to this, is something called Blocks Online. Blocks online is our software system that enables us to log, progress and track any actions required on site. Whether its progress on the light that has gone out in the communal hallway, or updates on the redecoration of the block, Blocks Online acts as a central hub of information. The good news is that all of our residents have access to the system too! By creating an account, residents are able to report issues, track their progress, and even receive automatic email updates when action has been taken by your Property Manager.
No! As the client you have full control of which contractors you would like to carry out work on your property. If you have a trusted contractor that you have used for many years, there is no reason why they should not continue to work for you. Likewise some of our new clients come to us with frustrations over existing suppliers. With our network of local, qualified and competent contractors, we will always be able to source high quality and cost effective suppliers to work with you.
